A south Fulton County high school is the first public school in the county to receive an international certification to teach science, technology, engineering and math from its accrediting agency.

Banneker High School received STEM certification from AdvancED, a nonprofit organization that reviews and accredits schools.

Fulton County Schools announced that the recognition makes Banneker the first public school in the county to receive the STEM accreditation from AdvanceED.
