On the surface, bringing three former Kansas City Public Schools employees to DeKalb County Schools isn’t much of a problem.

But Superintendent Steve Green has hired three people from his previous school district more than 800 miles away for interim jobs as he promises national searches will soon be under way for permanent replacements.

The three — Manomay Malathip, Eileen Houston-Stewart and Leo Brown — could lose the jobs to better candidates. Green, though, says he has faith in their abilities.
