Five Atlanta schools start school year with new principals

Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta is one of several schools in the Atlanta district to start the 2019-2020 school year with a new principal.

Two Atlanta high schools will start the year with new principals, and there are other leaders taking over merged and reconfigured schools.
The new Atlanta Public Schools principals are:
- Mulanta Clark-Wilkins, Mays High School
- Angela S. Coaxum-Young, Booker T. Washington High School
Several other APS principals have been reassigned or promoted internally. They are:
- Tiffany Ragin is the new principal of Dobbs Elementary. She was an assistant principal last school year.
- Dione Simon-Taylor is the principal of the new Harper-Archer Elementary School. She was principal of Towns Elementary School last year, which merged with another school to create Harper-Archer.
- Evelyn Mobley, former principal of West End Academy is the principal of Phoenix Academy, the district's new, reconfigured alternative education program.
