Students in some Atlanta schools will learn how to fence—as in the thrust-and-parry Olympic sport—thanks to Communities in Schools of Atlanta and other supporters.

Jackson High, King Middle, D.H. Stanton Elementary and Toomer Elementary schools will all receive donated fencing equipment. Physical education teachers at their schools will receive training in how to teach fencing.

It’s part of the work of Fencing In The Schools, a nonprofit founded by Olympic silver medalist Tim Morehouse. Funding for the program comes from Rick Rieder, of investment management firm BlackRock, and Dick’s Sporting Goods
