A DeKalb County School District principal has been reassigned to another job in the district.

Donnie Davis had been principal at Peachtree Charter MIddle School since the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

"Dr. Donnie Davis, principal at Peachtree Charter Middle School, was reassigned to another position within the district," a district spokeswoman said Monday. "The purpose of the reassignment is for the good and efficient operation of the school and district."

Officials did not share specifics of the new assignment.

The move comes as parents and others have asked for Davis' removal. An online petition has collected more than 100 signatures.
