The DeKalb County School District is debuting a new show for the 2019-2020 school year on its television station.

The pilot for "The Magic Library" is now available through the district's DeKalb Schools TV website, as well as on its YouTube channel and Comcast Channel 24 in DeKalb County. DeKalb Schools TV is described as an "education access" channel operated by the district to educate and inform audiences about the district's students, programs and services.

District officials describe the show as a “read-along series that will inspire students to embrace the joy of reading books, as well as social and emotional wellness.”

The show's target audience is pre-K through third grade but, district officials said, "all are invited to join Hootdini the Reading Owl and his energetic narrator, Bobbi, as they discuss such topics as historic public figures, kindness, sports and more."
