DeKalb school superintendent defends hiring, paying search firm

DeKalb County School District Superintendent Steve Green said Wednesday that a search firm was critical to hiring several new administrators, though the firm did not find the winning candidates.

Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates was paid $100,000 to find candidates for six administrative positions, and at least one DeKalb County Board of Education member said it was wasteful spending.
