Representatives of the DeKalb County School District will attend a one week leadership program at Harvard University.

Interim Superintendent Michael Thurmond, three school board members, three administrators and a parent will attend the Public Education Leadership Program July 7-12, with delegates from nine other school districts, including Gwinnett County.

The joint program between Harvard’s business and education schools will search for solutions to identified problems. DeKalb wants to develop parental engagement because the district and schools have been “inconsistent in developing an inclusive culture,” according to a district statement.
