DeKalb School Superintendent Steve Green announced two administrative hires during the April 18 Board of Education meeting.

The candidates were found by a search firm paid nearly $150,000 to find candidates for six jobs, though five of those were filled with candidates hand-picked by Green and others in the district office.

Green defended the use of the search firm, saying earlier this month that its job was to find candidates and vet those in line for the jobs to make sure they were a good fit.

Lisa Lynne Martin, the new chief academic and accountability officer, will make $168,158.18 when she starts June 1. Chezia Calloway, the new executive director for exceptional education, will make $110,000 when she starts Aug. 22.
