To get ready for the new school year, Cobb County Kindergarten and first grade students along with their parents are invited Friday to do a “practice run” on the school bus.

Prior to the first day of school for Cobb schools on Monday, bus runs and maps will be posted at local schools for parents to review.

Buses will run at regular scheduled morning pick-up times, and parents and students should be at the bus stop at least five minutes early.

Due to limited space, the school district asks parents limit the number of additional family members riding. Only school-age children are allowed to ride as regular buses are not equipped with car seats.

The bus will follow the planned route to school, then return back to the bus stop. For more information, check out the district's transportation department website.
