Cobb schools getting academic results for money spent

The Cobb County School District earned a higher than average score under Georgia’s new “financial efficiency” measure unveiled Thursday by state education officials.

The school district earned a 3.5 in the rating system, with 1 being the worst and 5 the best. It was the second-highest score among core metro Atlanta districts. Thirty districts in the state did better, with Forsyth County leading.

Marietta City Schools, an independent system in Cobb, earned a score of 2.
