Two newly-elected members of the Cobb County Board of Education were sworn in Tuesday. Susan Thayer of Post 2 and David Chastain of Post 4 were elected in November.

Thayer has more than 30 years of experience in education, including school administration, instruction and counseling in Cobb, Clayton and Douglas Counties. Chastain is a Cobb County native and Wheeler High School graduate. He has been a logistics analyst in the aeronautics industry for 17 years.

Incumbent Scott Sweeney was re-elected to represent Post 6.
