Clayton Elementary School in Cherokee County is starting construction on a new playground thanks to a $45,000 donation from Amicalola Electric Membership Corp. It’s the largest donation the district has received since 2003. Amicalola EMC President/CEO Charles Gibson presented the donation to the school’s PTA during an assembly attended by all students and staff. With the donation, the school is almost half way to its goal of raising $95,000 to fund the entire playground construction.
