A team of students from Chamblee Middle School won the Professional Association of Georgia Educators’ annual Academic Bowl for Middle Grades State Championship on Saturday, PAGE officials said in a release.

According to the release, teams competed during the morning in a round robin format, with eight advancing to the semifinals. The remaining teams squared off in single-elimination matches. Gwinnett County’s Five Forks Middle School was second, followed by Muscogee County’s Aaron Cohn Middle School in third.

The event was held at Georgia College & State University’s Arts and Sciences Auditorium. The school is located in Milledgeville. More than 1,5oo students compete at the local, regional and state levels.
