The Atlanta campus of Brown Mackie College will host its spring commencement on Friday, June 12.

Charles Steel J., the first African-American elected to the Tuscaloosa City Council and one of the first African-Americans elected to the Alabama State Senate, will present the keynote address. Steele was also the national president and CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which was co-founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

About 260 students are expected to receive degrees.

The ceremony at the Atlanta Civic Center, 395 Piedmont Ave NE, begins at 11 a.m.
