In observance of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Brookwood High School will host a program called “Teen Safe Dating” 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the school, 1255 Dogwood Rd SW, Snellville.

Sponsored by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice’s Office of Victim and Volunteer Services, the event will cover how to identify, address, prevent, and intervene when teen dating violence is suspected.

Statistics show that 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year.

The program includes a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, and vendors providing valuable resources. The free event is open to the public.
