The Atlanta Board of Education voted 6-2 Thursday to approve incoming APS superintendent Meria Carstarphen's recommendation to contract with an outside lawyer to serve as the district's top attorney. The new general counsel, Glenn Brock, and his firm, Nelson Mullins, have represented APS in the past. Board members Nancy Meister and Steven Lee voted against the recommendation, saying they needed more time to have key questions answered.
