Atlanta mayor among list of Georgia Tech commencement speakers
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has come out in support of the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, saying: “Instead of tearing families apart and using young people as bargaining chips, governments should work together to protect hardworking youth who make our economies and communities stronger, and make meaningful strides in creating a sensible immigration system.” (Photo by Phil Skinner)

March 29, 2018Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is one of several high-profile leaders who will be delivering keynote addresses at Georgia Tech’s commencement ceremonies.
Here’s the schedule and speakers:
- Ph.D ceremony - Fri., May 4, 9 a.m. at McCamish Pavilion. Speaker: Rafael Bras, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs.
- Master's ceremony - Fri., May 4, 3 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion. Speaker: Dr. Valerie Montgomery Rice, president and dean of Morehouse School of Medicine.
- Bachelor's morning ceremony - Sat., May 5, 9 a.m. at McCamish Pavilion. Speaker: Jan Davis, a Georgia Tech alumna who is also former U.S. astronaut.
- Bachelor's afternoon ceremony - Sat., May 5, 3 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion. Speaker: Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
