Atlanta Public Schools opened lottery applications this week for its pre-kindergarten program.

Applications for next school year will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 12. An electronic lottery drawing to randomly choose those accepted into the program will be held Feb. 22.

Children eligible for the 2018-2019 school year must be born between Sept. 2, 2013, and Sept. 1, 2014. Applicants must live within the school district’s attendance zone, except for APS employees.

The district offers pre-K programs at 37 sites and serves about 1,100 students, according to its website.  For more information about applying, visit the APS website.
