The fatal arrest of Ricardo Dorado, Jr.
Editor’s note: This video is from Atlanta police body camera footage obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution through an open records request. While the video includes graphic images, it also captures the 2022 arrest of Ricardo Dorado, Jr., including the 17 minutes he was held by police officers on the floor on his stomach which led to Dorado's death and a $3.75 million settlement with his family. The Atlanta Police Department, which continues to investigate the arrest, refused to make the officers available for interviews. Dorado's death is one of 39 deadly force cases that the Atlanta Citizen Review Board failed to investigate since its powers were expanded in 2020.
