History is made on a regular basis in the District of Columbia, but the public can’t always be a part of it.

As the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump continues, you can watch on television, of course, or you can try to get a ticket to be there.

According to Roll Call, individual Senate offices will receive visitor tickets allowing people who are not a senator or staff member — or even a federal official — to sit in the gallery during the proceedings. Each ticket is good for the entire day, so different people can use it at different times.

Each senator can decide how to allocate their tickets. Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island is offering the three tickets his office receives each day to constituents who file a request on his website.
