The Gwinnett County Police Department will host a free firearms safety seminar from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 19. It will take place in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center auditorium, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville. Personnel from the Gwinnett Police Academy will cover several topics, including Georgia’s carry and deadly force laws, the requirements for a carry permit and personal defense. Pre-registration is not required, but seating is limited so early arrival is recommended. No firearms at the event. Attendees will be screened at a security checkpoint. Info: Cpl. J.
