Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency ahead of Tropical Storm Elsa, expected to sweep across parts of South Georgia.
The order makes emergency assistance available from state agencies as needed in response to potential severe weather.
The order applies to counties that may be affected by the storms, including a line from Columbus to Macon to Augusta and points south. Here are the individual counties included in the order:
