A garbage truck caused traffic snarls on a Cleveland interstate highway Tuesday morning when the vehicle hit a pedestrian bridge and got stuck in an upright position, WJW reported.
The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m., the television station reported. The truck hit the overpass as it traveled on I-77, wedging the dump bed of the truck against the structure, WOIO reported.
Two right lanes of the interstate were closed for nearly three hours as crews worked to free the vehicle from the bridge, the television station reported. The roads were reopened around 10:30 a.m., WJW reported.
Officials from the Ohio Department of Transportation said they are evaluating the structural integrity of the bridge, according to WOIO.
