Atlantans love their cars. And car companies love Atlanta, it would appear.
Porsche opened the doors of its new North American headquarters to guests last week. The new office even has a test track with no speed limit, which is expected to start operating in June.
However, few can say they remember when Porsche's neighbor, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, used to be an auto race track named The Atlanta Speedway.
As the airport was developed, the race track was moved. In this week's #throwbackthursday, view a visual history of race tracks and speedways in the Atlanta area.
