School apologizes for 'terrorism propaganda' homework assignment

Parents are outraged over the assignment one Utah junior high school gave to students this week, in light of the recent terrorist attacks.

According to The Washington Post, a ninth-grade teacher at Salem Junior High School asked students to create a "terrorism propaganda poster."

One parent called the school concerned that the research required for the school assignment could put his son in danger of being added to a federal terrorist watch list.

After complaints, the assignment was withdrawn. According to a school spokeswoman, the teacher will not face disciplinary action.
