An investigation is being launched after a Florida mother reported that her son’s pre-kindergarten teacher made her son unclog a toilet with his bare hands.
Tiffany Huffman said her son's class was having issues with clogged toilets so the teacher decided to make her son an example, WKMG reports. "The teacher said he used too much toilet paper and made him reach his hand in the toilet and grab out the toilet paper with his bare hands. He felt like people were watching him have to do this. He was humiliated," she said.
Huffman said she alerted the school and the teacher admitted to making the student do this, but said “the toilet was clean” when she asked. "It's endangering his health. I realized afterwards that there was cuts on his hands but like the bacteria, anything could set in on those cuts," she said.
A representative from the Flagler County School District told WKMG that district officials “take these allegations seriously” and an investigation is being launched.
"It's frustrating to me because I want my kids to go to that school but he won't be going back into her classroom, that's for sure," said Huffman.
WKMG reports the teacher has been at the school for four years and no decision had been made on any disciplinary measures.
