Denzel Washington and his family are safe after fire crews were called to his Los Angeles home due to reports of a possible fire Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the “Training Day” actor’s home in the Beverly Crest neighborhood after a report of smoke emanating from the second floor of his palatial home. Firefighters examined the 28,887 square-foot, four-story property for any issues using thermal imaging cameras, but there were no concealed flames found.

Several furnaces in the home that were recently serviced caused the smoke, according to an LAFD media release. Those have been taken safely offline.

“There is no fire and everyone is OK and safe,” Washington’s publicist told Yahoo.

Washington and his wife, Pauletta, have four adult children. Their son and actor John David Washington had moved back home during the pandemic, he recently said in an interview.

Several fans were alarmed about the news and expressed relief that the Oscar-winning actor was not harmed.
