A DeKalb County man was arrested Wednesday and accused of robbing a teenager at gunpoint in Fayette County during a Facebook Marketplace sale, officials said.
Demari Deshun Lee is facing charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, pointing a pistol at another, first-degree cruelty to children and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The 20-year-old was taken into custody at his Stone Mountain home and is being held at the Fayette jail without bond.
According to the Fayette sheriff’s office, the incident happened March 24 during a transaction after a 15-year-old boy posted that he was selling clothes.
The victim, who was not injured, was robbed at gunpoint in the Rocky Fork neighborhood off McDonough Road at about 5 p.m., officials confirmed. The sheriff’s office did not say what Lee allegedly stole or how much the items were worth.
In November, police said a man was robbed at his home in Dunwoody during a Facebook Marketplace transaction. The victim arranged to meet with two men to sell some tools, but when they arrived one suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded all the tools, according to police.
