Pulaski State Prison: Gang threats of violence and extortion

"At Pulaski State Prison, gang members have been using the threat of violence to extort other inmates, seeking payments via Cash App for virtually everything, even the ability to take a shower or sleep in an assigned room. The mother of one inmate, Pamela Dixon, estimates she has paid at least $10,000 since her daughter arrived at Pulaski last July. But now Dixon, a 65-year-old from Ellijay who breathes with the aid of an oxygen canister, is fighting back, doing everything she can to expose the situation and save her daughter from harm. She has collected a trove of evidence, and it includes a recording of a phone call that chillingly points to what's been going on inside Georgia's second largest prison for women."
