The body was found in the woods Tuesday afternoon behind a home on Saganaw Drive.

A body discovered in a wooded area behind a Clayton County home Tuesday is believed to be that of a 15-year-old boy who was reported missing last week, officials said.

Police are working to confirm the victim as Logan Wade, who left his house Oct. 7 and never returned, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The news station reported the teen went to a Krispy Kreme located in Stockbridge to meet with someone called “Shrek.” Wade is believed to have met the person through Instagram.

The body was discovered in the 6000 block of Saganaw Drive in Rex just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Clayton police spokeswoman Sgt. Julia Isaac said.

Police did not say in what condition the body was discovered or how long it is believed to have been in the woods. According to Channel 2, the victim had been shot to death.

“We believe this to be Mr. Wade. At this point, we are actually trying to get DNA confirmation,” Clayton police spokesman Maj. Anthony Thuman said. “We have located several people of interest, and we have multiple witnesses that are being very forthcoming with the information.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Clayton police at 770-477-3747.
