The GBI has arrested two women on charges related to the killing of a police officer at the end of his first shift in the Middle Georgia town of Alamo.

Dylan Harrison, 26, was shot and killed Saturday morning in what authorities believe was a retaliatory attack for another man’s arrest. The officer’s shooting led to a manhunt and the arrest of 43-year-old Damien Ferguson on Sunday. Ferguson has been booked into the Laurens County Jail on a murder charge and remains there without bond.

Ferguson’s sister, 45-year-old Charlotte Ferguson of Alamo, was arrested Tuesday and charged with hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal, the GBI said in a news release.

A second woman, 24-year-old Asia Kinsey, also of Alamo, was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats. Her charges are based on what the GBI called “a threatening social media post” that she made Saturday, the same day Harrison was killed. The GBI also charged Damien Ferguson with bias-motivated intimidation of first responders, which stems from the allegations that the killing of Harrison was targeted.

Charlotte Ferguson has been booked into the Crisp County Jail, while Kinsey has been booked into the Treutlen County Jail.

The investigation remains active, the GBI said, and additional arrests are expected. Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI Eastman Office at 478-374-6988.
