A woman carjacked outside the OK Cafe in Buckhead said she was about to strap her 1-year-old in the car at the time.
The carjacking of a new Mercedes was one of two attacks reported Monday in Buckhead.
The woman asked Channel 2 Action News not to share her identity when she described how she felt paralyzed when two men approached her 2016 Mercedes on Monday.
“I looked up and saw them drawing their guns and I kind of froze for a few seconds,” the mother told Channel 2.
She described watching as a man pointed a gun and yelled, with his gun pointed yelling, “‘Gimme the keys. I’ll shoot you. I’ll kill you.’”
Her boyfriend threw the car keys at the suspects and the mother said she grabbed her son and ran.
“I just grabbed my son out of the seat,” she said. “Thankfully I didn’t have him strapped in yet and just ran in the direction of all the other businesses where there was a yogurt shop. People were sitting and eating with their families.”
Carlos Twine, 18, was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery for allegedly stealing the couple's 2016 Mercedes-Benz at gunpoint Monday.
Police were still looking for at least one other suspect on Sunday.
