A woman was rushed to a hospital after DeKalb County police found her shot inside a vehicle Friday morning.

The victim, who police believe is in her 30s, was discovered in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped in the 4300 block of Glenwood Road, across the street from a day care, police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent said.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was stable as of Friday afternoon.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the woman was shot about 4:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Obama Early Learning and Preschool Academy and got into her vehicle to try to get away. She crashed into a tree, the news station reported.

No suspects are in custody, Vincent said. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
