A woman faces a felony after being accused of starting a fire at a Kennesaw apartment Friday.

First responders arrived at the building off Towne Crossing to find a fire on the exterior second-floor balcony of an apartment, the release said. Investigators determined it had been set intentionally. No one was injured.

The release did not say how investigators tied Ferguson to the crime. However, a man who claimed to have called 911 told AJC.com that Ferguson banged on his door shortly after the fire was set and admitted to starting the blaze.

The caller, Brandon Flores, said Ferguson told him she had lit her boyfriend’s clothes on fire on the balcony, which he attempted to put out until fire crews arrived. Flores added that everyone on that side of the building has been temporarily displaced due to the incident, with the apartment complex assisting them with alternate housing in the meantime.

Ferguson was booked into the Cobb County jail, where she remains on a $27,720 bond, according to county jail records. In addition to the arson charge, she faces a count of giving a false name to law enforcement.
