A Conyers man faces a litany of charges following a high-speed police chase last week in Butts County, which ended with him allegedly slamming into a patrol car.
Rocky Eugene Delee, 29, and a passenger were spotted in a blue Chevrolet Cruze that was failing to maintain its lane Jan. 14, according to a Butts County Sheriff’s Office incident report obtained by AJC.com. The deputy spotted the vehicle on Halls Bridge Road near Higgins Road about 11:30 a.m.
The deputy attempted to pull over the vehicle, but Delee refused to pull over, the report said. Instead, a pursuit began that reached speeds of 85 mph. The chase forced multiple other motorists off the road.
When the chase reached the road’s intersection with Ga. 16, Delee allegedly sped through a stop sign before losing control and crossing into a ditch. The deputy attempted to intercept the vehicle before it could cross into wrong-way traffic, but his patrol car was struck by the suspects’ vehicle, the report said.
The patrol car was hit on the front driver-side bumper, causing damage to both vehicles, the report said. The deputy did not suffer major injuries.
Another deputy continued the chase west on Ga. 16 into Jackson, where Delee allegedly ran another stop sign with similar results. He lost control and struck a curb, allowing the deputy to perform a PIT maneuver and end the chase near Third Street, the report said.
Delee and the passenger, 34-year-old Megan Ashley Delee, were arrested without further incident. The two live at the same house in Conyers, but their relationship is unclear.

At some point during the arrest, Rocky Delee told deputies that, “I wanted y’all to kill me. I knew I was going back to prison,” the report said.
It's unclear if he ever served time in a Georgia prison, since his name does not show up in the Georgia Department of Corrections online offender database.
Both of their driver’s licenses had been suspended, and they had outstanding probation violation warrants out of Rockdale County, the report said. Methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax and other drug-related items were also allegedly found in the suspects’ car.
Rocky Delee was initially charged with 15 counts, including aggravated assault on a peace officer, eluding police and seven drug-related charges. He also faces several driving citations.
When Delee was booked into the county’s jail, a deputy found a suspected Xanax pill on him, leading to another felony charge.
Megan Delee faces eight charges, including six drug-related offenses.
