Dawson County inmate back in custody after escaping from work detail

The search for an escaped Dawson County inmate has come to an end.

Police have located Jeremy Pruitt-Akins, 29, who escaped from a work release in late May, AJC.com previously reported.

Pruitt-Akins was arrested Wednesday along with Lea Marie Nichole Propst, 27, in Forsyth County. She is charged with aiding an escape, according to jail records.

Deputies obtained an escape warrant for Pruitt-Akins after he didn’t return from his work detail on May 25, but no other charges are pending against him.

Propst was booked into the Dawson County Jail, while Pruitt-Akins was returned to the Dawson County Detention Center.
