Two men from metro Atlanta were arrested this week as authorities raided an apparent Athens human trafficking operation.

David Jaquile Freedom Hightower of Sandy Springs and Aaron Dimetre Staley of Loganville, both 22, were charged with two counts of human trafficking, two counts of pimping a prostitute under 18, and two counts of armed robbery, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

Athens-Clarke County police, acting on a call from New York, went to a Days Inn on North Finley Street. There, they found a 16-year-old relative of the New York caller with two of her suspected pimps, Lt. Jeff Clark of the police sex crimes unit told the Banner-Herald. Police later learned another girl who was being prostituted left the motel with other suspects, and they may have been headed to Florida, Clark said.

Authorities in Florida found the second juvenile victim, and five other suspects were arrested and are facing extradition to Athens, the paper reported.
