The driver of a pickup truck involved in a collision Saturday morning with three bicyclists from metro Atlanta has been charged in the incident.

Bennie Blackstock, 67, of Calhoun was charged with failure to yield while turning left, Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson said Tuesday.

The three cyclists were treated and released from Floyd County Medical Center, ospital spokesman Dan Bevels said.

Robert Edward Ferguson, Joseph Wade McLeod and George Darden were riding northbound on Cash Road near Covington Bridge Road about 8 a.m. when the accident occurred, Watson said

Blackstock of Gordon County was southbound on Cash Road and turned into a convenience store on the east side of the roadway at the same time, failing to yield to the cyclists she said.

The cyclists struck the right side of the pickup truck.

The investigation is continuing, Watson said.
