An Atlanta police supervisor who faces felony charges after being accused of hitting a fellow officer with her car and biting him will meet with Chief Erika Shields next week to learn about her job status.
Lt. Sharonne Annette Steed was placed on paid administrative leave after the April 10 incident, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said. He said Shields will determine Steed’s employment status as her case continues.
Steed faces charges of obstruction, aggravated assault, battery and violation of oath by a public officer, according to Fulton County Jail records. She turned herself in on April 14 before being released on a $20,000 bond later that day.
Steed is accused of getting into an altercation with Officer Joel Paul Curtis Richardson, who was working an off-duty traffic job near the Wells Fargo Bank at 3820 Camp Creek Parkway, AJC.com previously reported.

Steed refused to comply with Richardson’s orders and ended up hitting him with her car, Campos previously said in a news release. Richardson tried to remove Steed from the vehicle, which is when she allegedly bit his hand.

After the altercation, Steed identified herself as an Atlanta police officer, the release said.
She is the supervisor at the Airport Precinct and has worked for the department since July 1997.
