Gwinnett police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man accused of robbing a Peachtree Corners Family Dollar store at gunpoint.
According to police, the man entered the store at 7050 Jimmy Carter Blvd. at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday and encountered an employee “counting money in the safe.”
“As the clerk counted the money in the safe, the male displayed a silver revolver, tossed a black back pack in his direction and ordered him too fill the back pack with cash,” Cpl. Deon Washington said in an email.
The unidentified man escaped with more than $3,500, Washington said.
Surveillance photos from the incident show a black male with glasses, a goatee and a black ball cap. He is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Gwinnett police robbery detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can also remain anonymous — and be eligible for rewards up to $2,000 — by contacting Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS or crimestoppersatlanta.org.
