A Valdosta-area teen has been charged in connection with the death of a motorcycle rider in Daytona Beach, Fla., according to a media report.
Christopher Moore, 18, is being held in Lowndes County but is expected to be extradited to Volusia County, Fla., the Valdosta Daily Times reported.
Moore was charged after Florida authorities tracked a van, a green 2000 Dodge Caravan, that was linked to the death of a motorcyclist Sunday. The motorcyclist died at the scene, and the van was located at Lowndes High School, the paper reported.
Moore is charged with felony leaving the scene of a crash with death, the paper reported. The van belongs to another Valdosta-area teen, who has not been charged.
In Florida, the case is being handled by the homicide unit.
