Conyers police have recovered the vehicle stolen from a film company security guard after she was kidnapped, robbed and sexually assaulted earlier this week.
Authorities, however, continued to search Wednesday for suspects in the Monday attack.
Conyers police Sgt. Corey Hambrick said the car, which was previously believed to still be in the suspects' possession, would be processed for potential evidence.
“The case is ongoing and steadily developing,” Hambrick said.
The female victim was working a security job for a film company when, around 11:30 p.m. Monday she was approached by two males with their faces covered, police said. The woman was then forced into the trunk of her vehicle.
“The suspects drove around for a while before forcing her to provide her PIN for her ATM card and withdrew money from the Bank of America on West Avenue in Conyers,” police said. “They then drove to Johnson Park where they sexually assaulted the victim at gunpoint.”
The victim was eventually released on Johnson Road, and the suspects drove off in her car, police said. The woman called authorities from a nearby gas station.
On Tuesday, police released ATM surveillance photos of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS or crimestoppersatlanta.org.
