The family of a man who was shot on Edgewood Avenue is hoping security camera footage will lead to answers in his death.

Mitchell Mormon Jr. and another woman were shot early Saturday and Mormon later died at Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.

The 32-year-old father of three was out celebrating a new job, his parents told Channel 2 Action News.

Police are currently looking for a suspect after a deadly shooting.

“God had just opened up doors for him to start a new job and he was celebrating that and for him to be killed was senseless,” his mother, Gloria Mormon, told the television station.

“He was looking for avenues to support his children and that’s because he’s a loving father,” Mitchell’s father, Mitchell Mormon Sr., told Channel 2.

Atlanta police said one of the men was wearing a white jacket and the other wearing a hooded sweatshirt and carrying a backpack. Anyone who may have cellphone video is asked to contact police as well.

Mormon’s family said an arrest would bring closure and help prepare them to forgive their son’s killer.
