Just days after authorities arrested the accused triggerman in a deadly DeKalb County apartment shooting, they nabbed a second teenager Friday in connection with the crime.

Darnell Thompson, 19, was arrested at a home on Wild Springs Court, DeKalb police spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said in a news release. Thompson was booked into the DeKalb County jail on murder and armed robbery charges.

Police had arrested 19-year-old Iran King at his home Monday in Darin Thurman’s death.

Thurman, 21, of Lawrenceville, was found slumped over in his car on Glenwood Road outside the Austin Oaks apartments June 10. Thurman and his brother were in the area to meet women when he was killed, police said.

“King knocked on the vehicle window, pointed a gun at the victim, spoke to him and opened fire,” Williams said.

The two Decatur men then took a handgun, wallet, cellphone and cash, police said.

Thurman’s brother managed to get out of the car and call 911.
