A man targeting metro Atlanta middle school students is believed to be sending them explicit messages and pictures on Instagram, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Local investigators said the man, who has not been identified, is running an Instagram account to interact with students at The Westminster Schools. A spokeswoman for the school told Channel 2 they reached out to parents and have offered support to students contacted by the man.

The man is also believed to have contacted students at other schools.

Atlanta police said they are aware of the allegations and are investigating the claims.

No other details were released.
