Lil’ Scrappy got arrested for fighting to defend his girlfriend’s honor, according to a report in TMZ.
The celeb website reported that the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star was arrested at the gas station in Atlanta in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after getting into a brawl with a guy who reportedly disrespected his girlfriend.
TMZ reports that an off-duty Atlanta police officer at the same gas station broke up the fight. Officers reportedly arrested Scrappy, whose real name is Darryl Richardson, and the other man, whose name is Kenny Rogers,(no, not the country legend) for disorderly conduct.
TMZ says Scrappy was released a short time later.
“He was calling my girlfriend names and then put his hands on me … so I had to lay them paws on him,” he reportedly told TMZ. His lawyer Mawuli Mel Davis told TMZ a video would prove Scrappy was acting in self-defense.
