Puppy found sealed inside cardboard box

Police in the North Georgia city of Dalton are trying to find out who abandoned a puppy on the side of the road inside a taped-up cardboard box.
The puppy, a female that appears to be about 8 months old, was found by some children, who notified authorities, the Dalton Daily Citizen reported.
Despite being sealed in a box with temperatures in the 80s, the dog was healthy and playful after she was freed, officials said. The dog was taken by local animal control and turned over to a rescue organization.
