A man in New Mexico is accused of using an air compressor to get around his car's interlock device, police said.

Thomas Farris has been convicted of DWI three times, KOB reported. Authorities installed an interlock device on his truck that requires a breath test to start it, but Farris found a way around the device on Sunday. He allegedly used an air compressor to fool the interlock device, then rammed his truck into his wife's vehicle, with their children inside the car. Farris fled the scene, but police caught him soon after. His blood alcohol level was over the legal limit, police said.

Farris was charged with DWI, domestic violence, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and child abuse, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office.
