A homeowner shot and killed one of three people who broke into the resident’s home early Friday near College Park, police said.

Now, a manhunt is underway for the two other suspected intruders who got away.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the owner of a home in the 2000 block of Rochelle Way told Fulton police three men broke in through the front door.

The homeowner shot one of them, police said. Officers were called to the home just after 2 a.m. and found that man, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as 35-year-old Marquis Jackson of Atlanta, dead in the front lawn.

Police did not know if the men who got away were shot or hurt. They did not have descriptions for them, but said the men may be armed.

No one has been charged in the incident. Authorities were questioning the homeowner.

“We have to look at all the physical evidence, take everyone’s statements and put all the pieces of the puzzle together,” Fulton police Lt. Scott McBride said. “At that point, we’ll have a clear understanding of what happened and … we’ll make a decision on the charges.”
